Stories
Did you ever hear about Ibraheem? Yes, maybe a kid at your school or at the club is named Ibraheem. But I do not mean him. I mean the other Ibraheem, who the boy is named after: the Ibraheem from the Koran, the holy book of the Muslims, that is written in Arabic.
There is lot written about Allah in the Koran. 'Allah' is the Arabic word for God, the creator of heaven and earth. There is also a lot in the Koran about days gone by. Also about Ibraheem.
The story of Ibraheem in the Koran has many similarities to the story of Abraham from the Tenach and the Bible, the holy books of the Jews and the Christians. Ibraheem is the Arabic name and Abraham the Dutch name of this man. In the Bible he is referred to as the friend of the 'All Mighty'. And in the Koran as the friend of 'Allah'. You can also say he was the friend of the 'All Highest'.

In the book 'Ibraheem and Abraham' are a lot more stories from the holy books, about forty in all. Sometimes the books look a lot the same and sometimes there are differences. Through these stories you certainly learn more about the religions of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim children at your school, neighborhood or sport school.
